According to figures from the Office of Public Guardian, 295,000 applications were made for LPA in 2013/14 up from 200,000 in 2011/12. This will rise more with the ease of using the new form but you will see more fraud as well.
The sad thing is that many people will experience fraud and due to the difficulties in obtaining evidence and the lack of resources of the OPG, many injustices will not be corrected.
