An executor will not act
Someone is not responding, will not join the probate application or refuses to sign. The starting point depends on whether a Grant has issued.
An executor will not act, a property sale has stalled or an estate dispute is holding things up. Human Law helps you identify the blockage and assess the next step out of court.
Send a brief outline to check whether we can help. An enquiry does not commit you to payment.
A one-minute introduction from Justin Patten, solicitor and principal at Human Law.
Hello, my name is Justin Patten and I'm a solicitor and principal at Human Law.
When you have a probate dispute, it's difficult, it's emotional and particularly if you're an executor, you're concerned about how things are going to work out and what your responsibilities and potential liabilities are.
At Human Law, what we do is we try and help you identify what is causing the problem and then get you to a solution as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
These kind of matters are not easy, but you can be rest assured that we're experienced. We're confident that you'll be able to get a solution without necessarily having to go to court.
If you have any further questions or concerns, by all means email me and I will do my best to give you a concise reply. We look forward to hearing from you.
“Justin has a calm professional manner, we would highly recommend him.”

A beneficiary has requested accounts or questioned an expense. Clarify the request, the stage of administration and what information has already been provided.
A caveat may prevent a Grant from issuing. Establish why it was entered and whether a warning or other correspondence requires a prompt response.
The seven-route Problem Finder also covers blocked distributions, disputed lifetime transactions and challenges to the executor. It includes a property carrying-cost calculator and a resolution preparation check.
If the issues overlap or you need advice on your documents, Stage 01 identifies the principal blockage and assesses the appropriate next step.
