According to the High Performance Unit being a leader involves more than rallying the troops, MBA qualifications and a reputation for toughness.
The greatest leaders evolve others in their organisation to be even greater than themselves. The best leaders surround themselves with individuals to build teams that operate more effectively than one individual would alone.
But building the most effective team ensures that decisions needed at that top level – the pinnacle of the organisation, are based on analysis provided by the best in class.
Next week on Tuesday 8th March (one morning session, one afternoon) the High Performance Unit have got Ellie Wallace, and Steve Roush, ex-Performance Director of the USA Olympic Team (when they topped the medal tables!!) talking about building high performance teams.
I know Ellie and can vouch for her professionalism and effectiveness.
The event is taking place at the Royal Horse Guards in London. For more information, please contact Gerry Smyth at gerry@gascommunications.com
